This website is operated on behalf of the DISCOVER-ME project (Grant Agreement No 101287766), a Horizon Europe project coordinated by the Medical University of Vienna (MUW), Spitalgasse 23, 1090 Vienna, Austria. The website itself, including data collected through it, is managed by European ME Alliance (EMEA), Sankt Göransgatan 84, 112 38 Stockholm, Sweden, registration number 802534-2752, which leads the project’s dissemination and communication work (Work Package 9). European ME Alliance is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What data we collect
We collect personal data in the following ways: contact form submissions (name, organisation, email address, and message, sent to the DISCOVER-ME project team); newsletter sign-ups (email address, first name, and last name, stored via our newsletter management system); and website analytics, used to understand how visitors use this site. Depending on current configuration, this may involve the use of cookies or similar technologies, in accordance with our Cookie Policy. When you make a choice on our cookie banner, a record of that choice is kept as proof of consent.
Why we process this data
Contact form data is processed to respond to your enquiry, on the basis of our legitimate interest in doing so. Newsletter data is processed to send you project updates you have opted in to receive; the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter. Analytics data is processed to understand how visitors use the site and improve it, in accordance with our Cookie Policy, on the basis of our legitimate interest.
How long we retain your data
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond to and resolve your enquiry. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics tool’s standard retention settings.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf (for example, our newsletter delivery service and our website hosting provider), under appropriate data processing agreements.
