About DISCOVER-ME
DISCOVER-ME is a four-year Horizon Europe research project bringing together 21 partner organisations across Europe and Canada. The project is investigating the biological basis of ME to identify and validate biomarkers, define biologically meaningful patient subgroups and support the development of improved diagnostic and treatment approaches.

Understanding ME
Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) is a serious, complex, multisystem disease that can cause substantial disability. DISCOVER-ME aims to improve understanding of the biological mechanisms involved in ME and support the development of better diagnostic and treatment approaches.
Research and Findings
DISCOVER-ME is investigating the biological mechanisms involved in ME across five interconnected areas: (epi)genetic, immune, metabolism, neuroendocrine and vascular. The project combines detailed clinical phenotyping with biological and multi-omics research to identify and validate biomarkers and biologically meaningful patient subgroups.
