DISCOVER-ME partners meet in Valencia for project kick-off
The DISCOVER-ME consortium came together in Valencia on 7 October 2026 for the project’s kick-off meeting, launching four years of collaborative research into myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS) funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe.

Partners from across the consortium met to agree how the work packages will run, how they connect with each other, and how results will be shared with patients, the research community and policymakers. Further discussions took place during the two days which coincided with the laest Young EMERG (Young European ME Research Group) symposium that was taking place also.
DISCOVER-ME will identify, validate and prioritise biomarkers across (epi)genetic, immune, metabolic, neuroendocrine and vascular domains, with the aim of defining biologically distinct patient subgroups.
